Surgery - The day after

Eric is in full recovery mode. He is off the ventilator and back on the nasal cannula at 0.1L. He hasn't started back on his feeds again, they are waiting until noon to start that back up. They want to have him back on his regular schedule. Right now Eric is getting an IV for his meds and nutrition.

Here is Eric post-op. He is a little puffy from all the fluids they pumped into him. He had three incisions. One for each side of the scrotum and one in the belly button for the camera. Needless to say, the poor little guy is still in pain, but they give him a bit of morphine and some Tylenol.

Now that he is off the ventilator, we can hold him again. It was really hard for Cris and I not to pick him up and hold him when he started crying in pain. The pain meds helped, but it was obvious that Eric was still very uncomfortable. We did hold him before the surgery and touched his feet and hands afterwards. It was obvious he knew we were there and he clutched our fingers with his hand.

Sidenote: For those following the progress of Abigail, your prayers and well wishes have given her family their much needed miracle. Abigail is now doing so much better now. Thank you for taking the time to pray for her along with Eric.
