Bye Bye Mullet
A couple of days ago, we realized that Eric has a mullet because of the way his hair is growing in. Being reasonably horrified, he got his first haircut yesterday.

Tasting Notes
Eric is putting more foods in his mouth and being less gaggy overall. He still won't eat it but his eating therapist was very pleased with the progress that he has shown. A nutritionist also came over with her to analyze his blended formula and said we are on the right track. We are using ET's book to help us, "Homemade Blended Formula Handbook" by Marsha Dunn Klein. She also set up a program with VitaMix where we can get a refurbished commercial blender at a discounted cost. Everything else that we have used leaves chunky bits that are hard to get through the MIC-KEY button.

We have changed his feeding schedule again so that he gets the bulk of his calories in 3 meals with water and milk in between. Right now he gets mostly Compleat Pediatrics, BeneCalorie, Boost Breeze (from Nestle Nutrition), jarred pureed baby foods, and goat milk. When the blender comes in, we will be able to provide fresher foods. We also just joined a co-op so that we have no excuse not to get more fruits and vegetables into our lives.

Informational Tidbits
Eric can now climb in and out of bed without any assistance but his step stool and will often put himself in bed if he gets too tired. He loves bathtime and will cry if his Daddy tries to take his shower without him. Eric is also starting his signs again. Overall, Eric is a very happy and clever child who loves to get into mischief.

Long, long ago when Eric was still in NICU, we were told that we had to wait until he was able to tolerate his diaper changes before we could hold him for the first time. I'm glad they let us hold him before then because he still hates diaper changes.
