Baby Shopping and Setbacks
Yesterday was our official day for buying baby stuff for Eric. We didn't want to jinx his homecoming, so we've held off buying any big stuff. It was so much fun picking up his swing, car seat, etc, even though Cris kept flinching. HAHAHA...he hates shopping.
Unfortunately, yesterday's visit did not go as well. He has been having some serious brady episodes. At first it was only 12 hours in between the worst ones, but last night he bradyed to 11 O2 and 55 heart rate. They had done a lung x-ray that morning and found that Eric's lungs are doing wonderfully and his blood gas was 64 CO2. This rules out a respiratory problem.
After the last bad brady/apnea episode, they did some cultures to rule out any infections. They should come back within a couple of days. Meanwhile, Eric is back on the caffiene. It is possible that it is just Eric being a preemie. Personally, I think it is because Eric is really constipated. Every time he bears down he desats. The longer the duration of the bearing down, the lower he desats. He may have to go back on CPAP, just to get an extra boost, though he still has the desatting problem on CPAP.
We have some more baby stuff to get, apparently Babies R Us does not carry everything! The doctors were doing their rounds when I called, so by the time we are done shopping, we should know better what is going on.
